近年来，中心的教学工作取得了丰硕的成果，先后有1人被评为全国优秀教师，1人被评为全军优秀教师，1人获教育部“精彩一课”，2人获“ 吉林大学第三届青年教师教学比赛 ”理科组第一名，文科组第一名1人，1人获“吉林大学第四届青年教师教学比赛”理科组第一名。1人获吉林省青年教师大赛一等奖，1人获优秀指导教师（全国大学生数学建模竞赛国家二等奖）。1人获吉林大学首届“三育人”先进个人，1人获吉林大学首届师德先进个人，1人获吉林大学第二届十佳青年提名奖。4人获吉林大学农学部教学比赛一等奖。在搞好教学工作的同时，中心积极进行教学改革研究和科研活动，获得校教学成果一等奖1项、二等奖1项，1部多媒体课件获全国高等农业院校一等奖，科研成果获各类奖22项。中心党建工作取得了可喜的成绩，中心党委于2006年7月被学部评为先进基层党委。2个党支部被吉林大学评为先进党支部，4人被吉林大学评为优秀共产党员，中心代表队参加学部运动会多次取得了团体总分第一名。目前，公共教学中心正秉承着 “ 博学厚德、服务学生 ” 的理念，努力工作，为创造更加辉煌的公共教学中心而奋斗。

Teaching   Center  of Basic Courses , which is subordinate to the Agriculture Department of Jilin University , the former General Study Dept.of Quartermaster University of PLA , was founded in March, 2005. It now incorporates 2 Offices, 8 Teaching and Research Sections and 1 Center: the General Office, the Teaching Office, the Computer Teaching and Research Section, the Marxism-Leninism Teaching and Research Section, the Foreign Languages Teaching and Research Section, the Physical Education Teaching and Research Section, the Mathematics Teaching and Research Section, the Physics Teaching and Research Section, the Chemistry Teaching and Research Section, the Humanities Teaching and Reasearch Section, Central Experimental Laboratory. They not only undertake more than 60 courses of teaching tasks to the undergraduate students and post graduates, but also offer post-college education and the similar kinds of education.

　　Teaching   Center  of Basic Courses has a group of vibrant, high-quality talent to forge ahead. It currently has a teaching and administrative staff of 91members. Among these are 78 full-time teachers, accounting for 74% hold a master degree, 24% hold a Ph.D degree; it also has many professors and associate professors, accounting for 31% and 64% respectively of the total staff.

　　Over the years, through patient construction, Teaching Center of Basic Courses has advanced the lab and experimental teaching conditions. For now, there are total 43 laboratories, including 2 computer hardware labs, 4 computer rooms, 3 foreign language labs, 1 mathematical lab, 4 chemical labs, 4 physics labs and 1 lab each for the humanities and the Marxism-Leninism section. Moreover. the facilities of sports have been established and improved on an ongoing basis. There are 15 basketball playgrounds, 3 plastic volleyball courts, 3 badminton courts, 1 modern general athletic sports stadium and other all kinds of sporting facilities.

　　In recent years, Teaching Center of Basic Courses has acquired a great achievement. Among the staff, 1 has been awarded the title of “ National Outstanding Teacher”; 1 another was entitled “ Praiseworthy Teacher of the whole army”; 1 has obtained “Excellent Lesson” from the national education dapartment; 4 have won the first prize in “ Jilin University Young Teacher Teaching Contest”; 1 has won the first prize in “Jilin Province Young Teacher Teaching Contest”; 1 had awarded as “ Wonderful Supervisor” in National Mathematical Modeling Contest and so on. Meanwhile, Teaching Center of Basic Courses has engaged in teaching reform and scientific research vigorously. It has well praised for its admirable teaching results and remarkable scientific achievements in Jilin University . In July, 2006, the Party Committee of the Public Teaching Center has entitled as “ The Advanced grass-roots Party Committee”; 2 Party Branches of Teaching Center of Basic Courses has been commended by Jilin University ; 4 have been awarded as “Best Party Member”. And it also has won the leadership as a unit in school sports meeting for many times.

　　In order to meet the competition and challenge of the new century, Teaching Center of Basic Courses has set its goal of “ Erudition and Social Commitment ; Education is Service”. Teaching   Center  of Basic Courses is now making great strides towards that goal.
